The Alvin C. York Section Chief of Anesthesiology is the member of the Anesthesiology Service whose responsibilities include clinical activities, administrative responsibilities and educational activities within the department. The duties include, but are not limited to:
The physician is to provide leadership, administrative oversight and coordination of operations for the Alvin C. York Campus operating rooms and pain clinics. Manages the daily assignments and oversees the appropriate utilization of operating time in conjunction with the surgical teams. Oversees appropriate use of annual and sick leave utilization by the Anesthesiology staff to ensure adequate staff availability to all clinic and pain procedure areas. Ensuring adherence of providers to policies and procedures of the Anesthesiology Service, TVHS, VISN 9 and the VHA. The ACY Section Chief of Anesthesiology is responsible for developing and implementing systems redesign strategies to improve patient flow through the operating room and the pain clinic in conjunction with the Chief of Anesthesiology. Evaluation and supervision of mid-level practitioners within the clinic. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology, preferred. Reference:
VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements:
Physicians should be physically and mentally capable to perform the examinations, formulate the diagnosis and treatment plan, and educate residents. Physical activity includes sitting, standing (for up to 2 hours), walking (up to 2 hours), heavy lifting (intermittently, 45 lbs. or over), reaching above the shoulder, and repeated bending. Physician should be emotionally and mental stable and capable of performing the duties of the position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
