Job Description The Non-Book Lead oversees the maintenance and merchandising of all non-book departments, including, but not limited to Key 6, Gift, Pop Culture, Music, and Magazines.
The Non-Book Lead is also the primary trainer on these areas for new associates and managers.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesTrain all new Associates on the non-book departments and productsReview the Key Metrics, and Line Item Discount reports weekly to identify any training opportunitiesEnsure an understanding of the Action Alley Feature Rank and Category Sales ReviewEnsure product is merchandised correctly in relevant departmentsCoordinate the Markdown process and ensure product counts are updatedCoordinate the Magazine process and ensures shipments are correctCoordinate the COMP process for non-book areasEnsure Front-End checklists are completedAdhere to all Books-A-Million Policies and ProceduresPerform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsQualifications and Education Requirements18 years of age or olderPositive background checkHigh School diploma or equivalentCompletion of all required training coursesComprehensive product knowledgePreferred SkillsDetail orientedStrong customer service skillsStrong training skillsDemonstrated ability to act in a mature and conscientious mannerPhysical and Environmental RequirementsMust be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
